Description: Eyas Global Montessori, located in south Bellevue, is looking for a Montessori certified primary lead teacher to join our team for the 2024-25 school year and beyond. Option is available to start work during the 2024 summer program. Flexible work hours between 8am-5:30pm.

In this position you will be guiding a class of students, have a trained assistant supporting the class along with you (sometimes a second assistant), incorporating child observation with following the lead of the child in preparing a safe and joyful Montessori classroom environment, record keeping, generating progress reports, holding parent-teacher conferences, communicating with the administrators/teachers (your team as well as the team in the other class) and parents, creating materials and activities, developing curriculum for the three year cycle in collaboration with other teachers, participating in staff meetings, and planning, and participating in school events, etc. Each teacher has built in classroom prep time on a daily basis as well as a 2 hour block during the week for curriculum development.

Both classrooms have abundance of natural lighting, large windows, beautiful wood beams, direct access to the playground, have a shared children’s bathroom, two children’s sinks in each class, and classroom materials supporting the youngest learners starting at 2 ½ and continuing through Kindergarten (with advanced learning activities as well). We celebrate cultures and traditions from around the world. Cosmic education is an integral part of our curriculum. The administrators, faculty and staff work as a team supporting each other and in collaboration with families to create our school community which is inclusive and diverse.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Montessori Early Childhood Teaching Credential from an AMS or AMI-recognized training center.
  • Experience leading a Primary classroom and establishing a normalized environment based on kindness, firmness, and respect.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Commitment to professional development (minimum of 10 hours per year).
  • Evidence of emotional maturity and stability.
  • Technical skills that support recordkeeping and parent communication using Transparent Classroom (willingness to learn).
  • Has or is willing to complete state requirements including but not limited to DCYF background check, TB test, High school diploma, Child Care Basics, First Aid/ CPR, Blood-borne pathogens training.
  • Able to lift up to 20 pounds, willingness to share cleaning duties after lunch, and playground supervision.

SALARY/BENEFITS:

Salary range is $27-$32 per hour, dependent on education, training, and experience. Benefits include health, dental, vision, paid time off, retirement plan, professional development allowance.
