Description: We are Haggard Childcare Resources (www.haggardchildcare.com) and we have several 0-5 Early Learning and Child Care Centers in Seattle. Most of our schools use the Montessori theory of education, RIE in some of our infant rooms, and one school that utilizes HighScope. We are looking for talented and joyful people who have experience as teachers and/or as office support to a school.

Our schools are happy and busy places, where we put the needs of children first, while also realizing that happy teachers make for happy children. We place great importance on people taking leadership roles in whatever their job title is while also recognizing the importance of collaboration to maintain the integrity of our communities.

We are looking for a few people to fill different administrative roles among our schools and the positions vary in their demands of education and experience. Age Group: Kindergarten to 1st Grade

Description: LEARNING CENTER & ACTIVITY GUIDE

This teacher will be adept at engaging children in lower elementary school work and creative in providing extended learning opportunities. We are eager to meet you and introduce our school program. The support of this learning center is not in a Montessori classroom, but these children started in our classes for early childhood. They are very self motivated and able to focus on learning. They will be following the curriculum and assignments of their public school teacher and we want to support their efforts in a learning center while their parents are teaching in our early childhood classes.

Our school has two essential teachers who have daughters going into 1st grade. We have space to set up a study hall for them to do their online school schedule. We expect this just to be a morning schedule of 3 hours of online plus on the table school work. Once we have a "learning center teacher" for these students we have siblings of other children in our program who are asking to be included.

We can provide some outdoor activity time for this group in the afternoons and set up extensions to their online learning.

As we assemble this group we will have a more defined schedule of their school work.

Each student will have their own device and school will supply any other learning materials.

The teaching position can be structured for either half day or full day

We can arrange for either a contracted tutor or employment in the school. The standard requirements for a teacher in a licensed childcare center will also be applied to this position, including a portable background check, 1st Aid, CPR card and Food Handlers certificate.

Morning session 8:00-Noon - lunch provided by school chef

    Afternoon extension Noon to 3:00

This 2020-2021 position will start September 1 and continue as long as the Seattle schools are offering remote learning.

We welcome the interest of any teacher who would enjoy this setting and helping our students succeed.

Please call the school office at 206-282-3848 or write to the email of this ad to introduce yourself!
